An insult to the game

The International Cricket Council (ICC) charged Pakistan captain Inzamam-ul Haq on Monday with bringing the game into disrepute after his team forfeited the fourth Test against England at the Oval.

Inzamam and his team left the field on the fourth day of the final test against England. Umpire Hair caught one of the Pakistani player tampering the ball and reduced 5 runs from the Pakistan score as a penalty for ball tampering. After this Inzamam with his team left the Cricket field and never came back on the ground. They again remained in the changing room when the umpires went out a second time 15 minutes later.

The charge for bringing the game into disrepute is a level three offence. The penalty, if found guilty, would be a ban between two to four Tests or four to eight one-dayers.
