Prepaid to Postpaid scams

Many people in Mumbai and other cities are scammed by various fake companies posing to be an Airtel, Vodafone or Idea affiliates. These guys target two types of customers, one is the prepaid users who pay high amount of bills and the other is postpaid users whose bill amount is very low. These guys think they are smart and call such targets explaining them how they will be benefited by shifting from a postpaid scheme to a prepaid scheme or vice versa. The most shocking part is that they have all your information which makes it clear that some internal employees of the cellular service provider are involved big time in such scams. These guys visit your place and take anything between Rs 700 – Rs 1500 for converting your billing scheme. They show you their company visiting card which has the cellular provider’s logo. Even the receipt provided by them has the cellular provider’s logo and name on it which looks quite convincing.

Looking at the low paying schemes and offers, people pay the money and wait for their scheme to get converted. After one week of wait, the customer visits the nearest cellular provider store to find out that the person who visited them was a fraud and their money is lost now. Even the numbers they call from are fake and you will always get that number as an invalid number the next time you try to reach these frauds. So the next time any such person calls you, just inform your cellular service provider, call that fraud to your place and inform the cops.
