I am not a Yahoo guru or an expert in Yahoo. I have been getting lot of emails about Yahoo! and some of them actually know that I have worked for Yahoo! Tech Support (Small World eh?). I will quote one of the most generic emails. This talks about the new Yahoo mail looks which has chat and Yahoo! News integrated. This can really be annoying when we are used to the old Yahoo! Mail since 98695 years now. Here’s the email:
You have a good site and blog. I have several yahoo accounts and the BIGGEST problem is with the one created this past week, that insists on using the new format. It tries to load and eventually reverts to classic. Is there any way to just have it use classic in the first place? I use the classic format on the other ones and it works fine. Yahoo support has been less than helpful here. Thanks.
The answer to is quite simple. Just look at the top of your screen and you will see this.
All you have to do is click on ‘Mail Classic’ after which you will get a pop up for confirmation and thats it. Within seconds you are switched to the old Yahoo! Mail again.

Plese, can anyone help? I hate the new Yahoo email, and must have accidently switched to it! The ‘Switch back to Mail Classic’ button does not work and neither does the ‘Sign out’ button, I have to leave mail and go to Yahoo in oder to get out of my account, this is crazy! What can I do to get back to Classic Yahoo? I really hate the new version, way too much stuff that takes too much time to load!

If it shows ‘All New Mail’ …..that means you are already in Yahoo Classic Mail.

If your mail says “All New Mail” and not “Mail Classic” that means you are already in the traditional mail which is Yahoo mail clasic.
My yahoo sign out as well as Mail classic button do not work? I can’t reply, forward or open my attachments…. so basically my email account is useless since it doesn’t allow me to do anything….
it comes up with an error message in the toolbar at the bottom of screen Run script “void(0);” something like this… and there is no way I can get to classic I have tried everything so can someone tell me what is the problem

Mahta, try and use any other browser. I would recommend using Firefox. You won’t face such issues on Firefox. You can download it here http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/

Yahoo classic according to me is what you can have as of now. I dont think you can go back to the very old Yahoo format.

I am having the same problem. I click the “Mail classic” button and it stays the same, nothing changes. I simply cannot go back to the old style. What is wrong? I don’t get any error messages and I’ve tried it with different computers and browsers. It continues with the new horrible look and with the “Mail Classic” button still there.

@Sal Do you get an yellow exclamaion mark on your status bar. It should be on the left hand bottom corner. I would recommend you to use Firefox browser.
I could not, for about a week, go back to the New Yahoo Mail. There was no such thing as “All New Mail” next to the “Sign Out” tab in Mail Classic. If I went to “Options,” there was no such thing as a tab that says “The New Yahoo Mail Has Arrived Try It Now.” When I switched to Classic, the Yahoo site said I could switch back anytime. It’s not true. Today, somehow the “All New Mail” tab appeared, and I was able to switch back! Another person had the same problem. I looked at his screen, and it too has none of the tabs to allow him to switch back to All New. Crazy!
no yahoo classic is not traditional yahoo i want the old traditional yahoo format back for years ago like 2005 or 2006 or before that’s what im talkin about
