Who will win The 2009 ICC T20 World Cup?

Like most Indians, I am a BIG fan of Cricket. Watched the India Vs Pakistan warm up match yesterday and it never looked like a warm up match. Both the teams were taking the game seriously and the crowd was amazing too. It was a bit disappointing to see less number of sixes in all the warm up matches and this is because of the HUGE grounds in England. Shortening the boundaries would make the games more exciting. According to me, scores around 160-180 would be good scores in this series. Anything below 150 would be easy to get on the pitches in England.

India has a very good chance of winning this one with a superb looking batting line up and good bowlers. The most important aspect would be the fitness of the players. All the key players need to keep fit for the entire series and play almost all the matches. India is in Group A which has Ireland & Bangladesh which means qualifying for the next round would be a cake walk for India. If everything goes as per my assumptions then Firday June 12th and Sunday June 14th will be very important days for India. The top team in Group A takes on the Top Team from Group C on June 12th. I am predicting A1 to be India and C1 as Australia. The match on Sunday 14th June is between A1 and B2. Group B has Pakistan, England & Netherlands. This means on Sunday 14th June, India have a good chance of taking on Pakistan. WOW! That would be a great match to see again. Then on Tuesday 16th June, India (if they are top in group A) will take on either South Africa or New Zealand. This match would be exciting if India manages to lose any of the matches on June 12th or 14th.

Its going to be exciting. There is no doubt about it. Apart from India, I think England have a good chance of winning due to the home ground and support advantage. I have heard of the Indian team opting in for Grey color clothes in thi series. It is not finalised yet but I think they should stick to the old cool blue.
